20 Best Video Games Of 2019 (So Far)
11. Dreams
What if you could have the knowledge on how every game is made, then build some yourself?
A lofty proposition, but after you've made your name on Little Big Planet (a fellow "make your own fun" title with a hardcore fanbase), Dreams was almost Media Molecule's next logical step.
At time of writing it's still in Early Access, having become playable to the world on April 16th. Though MM are still patching features and seeing what comes in when millions of us have access to creation tools, even this version is already unbelievably promising.
Notably you have access to the Dreamverse, so you can essentially play something brand new every day, but the real meat of the package is in the creation suites.
Here you'll learn character and environment animation, artistic qualities like sculpting levels, and even how to record an original score or create sound effects for your character, vehicle, sprite etc.
That's just the tip of the iceberg, as seeing a video game come to life - or just playing what others have come up with - is a fascinating experience, and one no other developer is even attempting.
