20 Biggest Video Game Bombs Of 2025
8. Hunter X Hunter: Nen X Impact
Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact emulates the Marvel vs Capcom series, with 3 vs 3 tag-team fights that showcase wild combos and flashy specials.
Unfortunately, the game itself is devoid of substance. The story mode resembles a glorified slideshow, since the cutscenes are composed of static images and bare-bones dialogue. There are only 16 playable characters, which is shockingly low for a 3-on-3 fighting title. The limited roster reduces team-building options, especially with how unevenly balanced the fighters are.
Even though Nen X Impact was delayed to implement rollback netcode, it's impossible to tell, due to the endless lag, flickering characters, and frequent disconnects. On top of that, there's no crossplay, splitting the already minuscule player base further.
But the most unforgivable aspect is the pricing. Nen X Impact cost $60 at launch, which is the kind of price expected from an established fighting brand like Street Fighter or Tekken, rather than... this. (And if you include the Season Pass, it brings the grand total to $80.) Obviously, asking consumers to pay hard-earned cash for a thin single-player, sketchy online modes, bland visuals, and a tiny roster is beyond unreasonable.
Even though Nen X Impact did a 30% discount shortly after release, it was too little too late, as can be seen by its single-digit player numbers.
