3. Guessing The Arkham Knight's Identity From The First Thing He Says

Hopefully by this point you've gotten through Batman: Arkham Knight's campaign and - provided you're not down with your Bat-mythos - had a suitably shocking reveal play out in front of you. If not, spoilers will follow for exactly that. For the rest of us who scoured forums, screenshots, interview quotes and everything in between, we headed in thinking it just had to be Jason Todd. Or an A.I., or Damien Wayne or- look we had it pretty narrowed down, okay? So, when you first see the AK in his custom helicopter, he utters the line "Time to die, old man", which being Robin and Nightwing were already accounted for, could only be Jason Todd a.k.a the Red Hood - especially when Red Hood DLC packs were being advertised as tie-ins, despite him being nowhere to be seen. Everything he says from there on out is the most on-the-nose version of the character there's ever been, complete with gritty "You wouldn't understand, it's personal" delivery. When the game itself starts throwing you into forced flashbacks just to literally go "Hey, Batman's randomly remembering that one time he failed", it comes across as a crash course in Todd's history, the groundwork for what's supposed to be an otherwise surprising final reveal. Instead, it ends up shooting itself in the foot in the process.
