20 Great Video Games That Everybody Turned Against

Star Wars has a history of excellent MMORPGs – and one that Disney have failed to capitalise on. But, back in the noughties, LucasArts/Sony’s Galaxies was the place to be for multiplayer gaming in any of several galaxies far, far away.

Galaxies let you create a character from an innumerable choice (ten) of species, including Twi'lek, Zabrak, Wookiee, Rodian and Mon Calamari, and you got to unleash your creation on a large and vastly populated universe, where the possibilities were not necessarily unlimited, but expansive enough to give an authentic feel of the IP and plenty of surprises to keep us coming back for years.

The issues of the game, ironically enough, was the Jedi. At first, there weren’t any Jedi, then they were gradually introduced, but with punishing limitations that kept their numbers in check. However, around the mid-noughties mark, when numbers were first beginning to dip, Sony did an overhaul that allowed Jedi as a starting profession, abandoning their appropriately nerfed model for the class and turning the universe into a wretched hive of scum and villainy in the process.

The dominance and prevalence of OP Jedi turned gameplay sharply for the worse, and made a beloved game a bad memory for once-devoted gamers.
