20 Greatest Commodore Amiga Games Of All Time

5. Sid Meier€™s Civilization

Universally accepted as one of the most important and influential strategy games of all time. This was the first entry in the long-running Civilization series, and Sid Meier showed us just how dangerously addictive turn-based games could be. A lot of the gameplay elements from today€™s Civilization series can be seen in this original game, from the exploration and tech-trees to the diplomacy and economics. This was the first title to truly popularise the 4X (explore, expand, exploit and exterminate) category of strategy games. Civilization was another Amiga title that proved graphics didn€™t matter when it came to making a brilliant game. Like all the Civs that followed, this was responsible for the complete loss of many people€™s weekends.
