18 Greatest Video Game Villains Of The 2000s

16. Lionel Starkweather - Manhunt

Switching gears from a playful psychopath to a flop-bellied pig of a man, voiced by the brilliant Brian Cox to great effect. Essentially playing the part of the fat bedroom-slave slob akin to that one in South Park: Make Love, Not Warcraft, when what he's controlling is many peoples' lives all hanging in the balance by way of who can butcher the other first, it makes for one hell of a comeuppance that's served only at the close of the game. One of the best things about Manhunt is its ever-changing range of weapons and tactics available throughout, and come the final few levels when you've tracked down Starkweather's mansion and are storming the halls with a few carrier bags and a machine gun, the realisation you can finish him off with an ultra-violent chainsaw fatality is the best way for him to go out.
