Year: 2002 Platform: Microsoft Windows Divine Divinity was the first in a series of equally terribly named cRPGs by the brilliant Larian Studios. Divine Divinity was launched just a couple of years too late to be truly big hit, when everyone was in a frenzy of wanting modern 3D graphics and cinematic action (have things changed?). Arguably marking the end of the genre's golden age, Divine Divinity is an excellent cRPG that should have gone down in history as a genre classic. More action-orientated than games like Baldur's Gate, but more RPG-y than stuff like Diablo, Divine Divinity was welcoming to new players, while deep enough to sink its claws in for hours of fun. The game has since spawned an okay-ish sequel and a couple of spin-offs. Fortunately, Larian Studio's latest release, Divinity: Original Sin, finally brought the company very strong sales and recognition to the underappreciated series. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbPWtF6J01Y
