20 Greatest Video Games You've Never Played

16. The Operative: No One Lives Forever

Year: 2000 Platform: PlayStation 2, Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X Proof that it's almost impossible to make a unique shooter with personality that people will actually buy, the first No One Lives Forever was critically acclaimed but commercially disappointing. Set in the 1960s, No One Lives Forever was a fun, tongue-in-cheek adventure in which players controlled secret agent Cate Archer as she attempts to infiltrate the villainous H.A.R.M. While the game was often very funny, with its Austin Powers inspired tone, the gameplay itself was seriously good. Many contemporary critics compared it favourably with Half-Life, while others claimed it to be the best FPS game released so far. No One Lives Forever received an equally amazing sequel in 2002 for Mac and PC only, but it too was a commercial bomb. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPOaK3Z60dM556
