Year: 2010 Platform: Playstation 3, Xbox 360 Sometimes it seems like even if a game does just about everything right, it was still doomed to fail regardless. Vanquish was one of those games. With fast-paced action, a futuristic military theme, fluid movement and great graphics, Vanquish had all the right boxes ticked when it came to things that were popular with contemporary audiences. It wasn't a total flop, but with under one million copies sold worldwide, it deserved a lot better. Vanquish's gameplay was bother refreshing and fun, owing more to the shoot 'em up 'bullet hell' style games than the 3D shooters on the market that it was competing with. The campaign isn't the longest, but for the sheer amount of action packed in the game's eight or so hours, Vanquish is one of the best single-player shooter experiences from last generation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nr1RzIr0Rzc
