20 Hilarious Video Game Mechanics You Didn't Know Existed

14. brrrr - BeamNG.Drive

BeamNG.drive is a sandbox racing game mostly used for one of humanity's favorite spectacles—car crashes.

The game allows you to test the limits of all manner of different vehicles on its many maps as you drive them, race them, and perform stunts that usually end up with your car looking like a squished accordion.

However, although crashing cars can be funny, going over the speed limit can result in an equally hilarious disfigurement of your vehicle thanks to one hidden easter egg.

No car in BeamNG is programmed to go faster than 200 mph. This said, if you apply some modifications to your vehicle and use the map terrain to your advantage (by jumping off ramps, for example), it is actually possible to raise the number on the speedometer beyond the physical limitations of the car.

Furthermore, if you somehow manage to reach the speed of above 20,000 mph, the speedometer will break, displaying the word "brrr" in place of the number, and your car's wheels will start to perpetually grow in size until it looks like the child of an unholy union between a sportscar and a coach wagon.

It's the exact kind of pointless silliness that makes BeamNG so fun.
