20 Major Video Games You Forgot Were Happening
18. Star Wars Eclipse
The Star Wars franchise has a long history with video games, giving us some genuinely great titles like Stars Wars Battlefront and Star Wars Rogue Squadron: Rogue Leader. The 2021 Game Awards gave us a glimpse of a brand new action adventure title from developer Quantic Dream, set Centuries before the events of the original Star Wars trilogy.
Star Wars Eclipse was revealed with a cinematic trailer that showcased jedi, aliens, and several brand new worlds, piquing the interest of franchise fans old and new. However, the years that followed brought hardly anything in the way of new information. Quantic Dream boss David Cage offered reassurance in 2025 when he said that 'Development of Star Wars Eclipse continues' and confirmed the studio is eager to share more when it can. Lucasfilm Games included Eclipse in a short video it released in September 2026, but that didn't include any new footage.
No release date, no new footage of gameplay or anything at all, and the fact that the game's own website still describes it as being in 'early development', all add up to the game's 'Eclipse' title currently more than living up to its name...
