20 Major Video Games You Forgot Were Happening

The 2024 Game Awards saw the acclaimed developer Naughty Dog announce its newest project, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, a third person action adventure set thousands of years in the future. It follows a bounty hunter named Jordan after she becomes stranded on a mysterious planet named Sempiria. During the reveal, the studio confirmed it had been working on the project since 2020, so there was a cautious optimism among fans in terms of how far along it was.

Unfortunately, that optimism was a little premature. Since that initial stylish trailer, concrete information has been pretty slim. There have, however, been some positive updates this year which prove the project is moving along, albeit maybe not at the pace some had hoped. In August, Naughty Dog revealed that its motion-capture shoot for the project had wrapped. Then, in a September blog post, studio head Neil Druckmann revealed the team is 'heads down' on Intergalactic, and consider it to be their most ambitious project to date. Given its stiff competition, that's not a statement to be taken lightly.

Druckmann confirmed there wouldn't be any meaningful updates for the rest of 2026, but promised a proper reveal next year.
