20 Major Video Games You Forgot Were Happening
14. Divinity
Award-winning studio Larian has a tough act to follow, after its groundbreaking RPG Baldur's Gate 3 swept up at the Game Awards in 2023. Its next project, Divinity, was revealed two years later at the same event. The RPG takes place in the same world as the other titles in the Divinity series, but tells a completely new story, making it a great entry point for newcomers to the franchise.
The announcement trailer gave viewers a brief glimpse of the game's dark tone and world, but precious little else. Aside from a couple of brief updates from the team, Larian has been very quiet since then. The studio's CEO, Swen Vincke, confirmed in April this year that there was 'a lot that is still rough or missing', but he could feel the game 'coming alive'.
Given Baldur's Gate 3's impact on the RPG genre, there's every reason to believe Divinity could be equally exciting when it is eventually properly revealed.
