20 Major Video Games You Forgot Were Happening
13. Bioshock 4
The Bioshock trilogy concluded with 2013's Bioshock Infinite, and many wondered if that was the end of the road for the series. In 2019, though, 2K revealed that its newly-formed studio, Cloud Chamber, would be developing a 4th entry in the franchise. Almost 7 years later though, we're still waiting to actually see it.
It's fair to say the project has had a turbulent development cycle so far. It's reportedly undergone multiple major changes, and in August 2025, Cloud Chamber suffered a significant amount of layoffs, complicating things even more. The game was reportedly targeting a late 2026/ early 2027 window which has been pushed back since the layoffs.
In a 2026 interview with Take Two CEO Strauss Zelnick, the studio head admitted he was 'deeply disappointed' with how long the game had taken. Despite all of this, though, the game does remain in active development. Exactly when we will get more concrete news, though, remains unknown.
