20 Moments That Made The Resident Evil Series Iconic

7. Barry Burton's Dialogue – Resident Evil

Barry Burton; the man, the myth, the magnum.

He’s the cuddly supporting character who helps Jill throughout the first game, giving her ammo and saving her hide whenever she gets in deep trouble. He’s also gifted with some of the most memorable dialogue in the series, where terrible acting and woeful dialogue joins together to create real magic.

There're almost too many quotes to choose from, be it “The master of unlocking” line, “I hope this is not Chris’ blood” or the phrase that launched a million Barry Burton fansites “You were almost a Jill sandwich!”

That’s only a small sample of his greatness, and his goofy charm is one of the reasons the original is remembered so fondly.  Capcom finally gave the character his due by giving him a lead role in Resident Evil: Revelations 2; the dialogue may have gotten (a bit) better, but he was still the same old lovable Barry.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
