17. Draygon - Super Metroid

Super Metroid Draygon
Nintendo

Super Metroid may be hailed as a masterpiece, but we can all collectively agree Draygon can go to hell. Even if the bounty-hunting heroine, Samus Aran, has every Energy Tank and Missile upgrade in her arsenal, the odds aren't in her favour while tangling with this waterborne grotesquerie.

Firstly, Draygon is only vulnerable when he swoops down, giving players a split-second to strike while also avoiding being impaled by his spiked tail.

Secondly, Draygon constantly shoots Gummy Spit, making it impossible for Samus to jump if it touches her. If this happens, Draygon will ensnare Samus and drain her energy. Samus will be left with minimal health afterward, so it's nearly impossible to win, even if Draygon pulls off this manoeuvre once.

Dragyon is such a nightmare to defeat, most players take advantage of a major exploit. By blasting the wall turrets with a Missile, the electrical wires will be left exposed. If Samus latches on these exposed turrets with a Grapple Beam while Draygon is holding her, the ugly brute will be fried to a crisp within a matter of seconds.
