16. Great Centipede - Nioh

Nioh Great Centipede
Team Ninja

Even though centipedes are petite, they can be dangerous since their venomous bite can result in paralysis.

Now imagine if such a centipede was 100ft long... and its face was on fire.

That's what Nioh's protagonist, William Adams, has to contend with after entering the Silver Mine. The Great Centipede is constantly vomiting up rocks, spewing poison, and burrowing through the earth, making it difficult to stay in control of the confrontation. Due to the yokai's immense size, it can encircle you effortlessly, limiting your offensive or defensive options. Although you can climb the ladder to the second floor to keep your distance, the Centipede will be on your tail in no time.

But if you're not a fan of dying repeatedly, you can try something else. After climbing the ladder, the Centipede will begin making his way up to reach you. While he's directly below, walk off the edge and plunge your blade into him Dark Souls style. This attack breaks the critter's body apart and gives William the opportunity to destroy the tail, stopping the Centipede from spraying poison.

You can then rinse and repeat but without the possibility of being poisoned, making the fight significantly easier.
