5. The Adventures of the Dim-witted Broskies on Skull Island (aka Far Cry 3)
Far Cry 3 has a number of problems, mostly revolving around that awful, supposedly
subversive white savior storyline and some of its twist and turns, but the game still emerges as the sandbox of the year by way of its crazy balls to the walls gameplay. Ever wanted a game where you could punch sharks, light up pot fields with a flamethrower, and stalk your prey through the jungle with bow and arrow? Far Cry 3 is for you. It would also discredit the game not to mention just how utterly gorgeous this tropical paradise is. If youve got a beefy enough rig, PC is the way to go just so you can take in the full beauty of the place. Console gamers, like myself, have no fear: the game looks fantastic on PS3 and Xbox 360 as well. Far Cry 3 is easily the best game in the series; it also happens to be one of the greatest games released this year.
