Crobat falls into a similar category to our previous entry, Toxicroak, as it is a battler that struggles to find its niche. Its stats and type moveset suggest it should be a quick striker rather than a support player, but the moves themselves also manage not to back that up.

Traditionally it learns more direct attacks, but these are mostly all middling assaults that are unlikely to despatch many foes without numerous turns and attempts. It can also be taught very few attacks via TMs or Tutors that do increase its threat on the field, making it a somewhat limp attacker.

With its lightning Speed you could suggest Crobat would make a great status affecter, but there are very few moves like Stun Spore or Hypnosis that it can even learn. Crobat is a Pokémon caught between two niches, unable to find its most useful place.
