20 Reasons 2016's Biggest Video Games Might Suck

8. Star Citizen Is A Victim Of Its Own Hype

Release Date: TBA The Hype: Where to begin? Star Citizen is a space sim and the most crowd-funded project in history, having amassed an insane $109+ million to date. It is an epic like gaming has never seen before, consisting of a massively multiplayer persistent universe featuring combat, trading and exploration, and a campaign mode allowing both single player and co-op multiplayer. Why It Might Suck: Simply, the game has been in development for so long, cost so much money and is so absurdly ambitious that nothing short of a masterpiece will satisfy its fans and the gaming media. It may ultimately end up as an ambitious failure, or at the very least a victim of its own mighty hype, serving up a decent yet flawed title that probably didn't justify all the ceaseless hype. We all want to be wrong, but it will be nothing short of a miracle if Star Citizen is everything it promises to be.
