20 Reasons 2016's Biggest Video Games Might Suck

1. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End's Creative Problems Cripple The End Product

Release Date: May 10 The Hype: It's the final entry into the beloved Uncharted series, and teases a dark end for steely protagonist Nathan Drake. What's been shown off so far looks nothing short of beautifully cinematic and totally mental, and if that's not enough, the campaign mode will be accompanied by a multiplayer suite. Why It Might Suck: Alright, so it's hard to imagine this game being bad, but it's important to note its challenging production history: in April 2014, the series' writer and Uncharted 4's director both left Naughty Dog, with The Last of Us' Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley taking over the project. The pair actually scrapped 8 months of story work and mo-cap shooting, so it's safe to say that the game has undergone a significant creative overhaul over the last two years. Considering how awesome The Last of Us turned out, this could very much be for the better, or it could result in a schizophrenic end product that has no idea what it actually wants to be, comprised of the creative remnants of two regimes. But that's probably not going to happen, right? It's Uncharted!
