20 Reasons The Year's Biggest Video Games Might Suck
13. Assassin's Creed Victory Is More Buggy, Generic Crap From Ubisoft
Release Date: October or November The Hype: The latest core entry in the Assassin's Creed franchise, this time taking place in Victorian-era London, but aside from that, little else is known. This is the first game in the series to be developed by Ubisoft's Quebec studio, and features one majorly interesting new feature: a grappling hook which players can use to swing around London like Tarzan, potentially changing how the franchise plays forever more. Why It Might Suck: If Ubisoft proved anything last year, it's that the Assassin's Creed series could really use a year off. Unity was released as a buggy, broken mess on consoles, while the PC version was pretty close to unplayable on day one. Even once it was fixed, the game was nothing special, just a typical entry into the franchise, suggesting that the dev needed to go back to the drawing board and think about some big innovations for the series. Though the grappling hook sounds promising, that's not really going to be enough to make it worthwhile if the game still relies on the same boring tailing missions and set-pieces you've played through dozens of times before. Still, even if it sucks, the devoted fanbase will lap it up no doubt.
