1. Thinking It's The Most Fun You've Ever Had... Possibly Ever

For all it lacks with the occasional (read: daily) server outages and unstable catching mechanics, Pokémon GO more than makes up by turning the real world into an awesome, digitally-augmented one.

Suddenly we think of ourselves as actual Pokémon masters; employing the same tactics as on the handheld games, training and fighting at gyms, stocking up on Pokéballs and going on mini adventures to see what we can find.

When all of these things come together, Pokémon GO is absolutely outstanding, and although it's weird to think of it going up against the likes of Uncharted 4, Overwatch and Dark Souls 3 in the runners for Game of the Year, what Niantic have created here is pretty damn special indeed.
