20 Unlucky Moments That TOTALLY Ruin Your Game
4. Horrible Black Void - Talisman: Digital Classic Edition
Talisman is a classic fantasy board game that was given an enhanced digital edition in 2014. The video game version of Talisman is almost exactly the same as its physical counterpart, right down to the terrible luck that can flip the balance of power on the board on its head.
If you ever played Talisman, be it digital or tabletop, you're probably already thinking about the Horrible Black Void.
For the uninitiated, the digital version of Talisman features several different ending cards that can be chosen at random upon reaching the game’s final goal of the Crown of Command. Each ending is meant to add some extra flavor into the late game, like a hidden boss fight with a dragon or an event that lets you unleash powerful spells to defeat the other players.
And then there’s the Horrible Black Void.
The Horrible Black Void is an ending in which your character gets sucked into a vortex and immediately dies. This means that after hours of dominating the board and reaching the end before everyone else, your reward is to just die.
All because the game randomly decided your fate before it even started.
