20 Upcoming Video Games Absolutely NOBODY Wants
11. Monster Hunter Outlanders
The Monster Hunter franchise has been going from strength to strength in recent years, though the immediate backlash to Monster Hunter Outlanders proves that fans won't simply follow the IP everywhere it goes - and certainly not to mobile platforms.
Monster Hunter Outlanders is an open-world survival game exclusive to mobile devices, and while that alone will give many a moment for pause, the bigger issue is that it's being developed by TiMi Studio Group and published by Tencent, meaning it's almost certainly going to be packed to the brim with predatory monestisation and gacha mechanics.
On top of all this it just doesn't look very appealing.
Even accepting the more limited hardware of many mobile devices, the bland, muddy textures in the reveal trailer suggest a game that's being quickly curled out to cash in on the Monster Hunter brand without due care.
Needless to say, most fans will likely stick to the full-fat console releases.
