17. Until Dawn 2
Horror fans were shocked when Until Dawn 2 was recently finally announced, more than a decade after the original cinematic survival horror game hit the market and became a pop-culture phenomenon.
And while the follow-up is being promoted as a largely standalone sequel, save for Peter Stormare reprising his role as psychiatrist Dr. Alan J. Hill, there are many fans convinced that Sony is playing things a little coy here.
That is to say, a lot of people believe that Until Dawn's original Final Girl, Sam (Hayden Panettiere), will make some sort of appearance in the sequel.
It's the horror tradition to bring the Final Girl back of course, and while it might be difficult to see how Sam would fit into a sequel that seems quite different from the first, since when has that ever stopped horror franchises doing it anyway?
Many would love to see Sam brought back into the fold, so if it happens it'll send shockwaves throughout the fandom, especially if it also tees up a third game.
