20 Video Game Side Quests That BROKE You
19. Making Friends (Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey)
The job of an assassin is, naturally, to assassinate people, yet the Assassin's Creed franchise has shown that these cold killers have plenty more to offer. Case in point: in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, you can choose between crushing a child's dreams or letting them live in a delusion. How fun.
"Making Friends" is a Kassandra Genetic Memory quest that introduces you to a young girl playing at a clay pit. She'll tell you she wants to make some jewellery for her friends, and ask you to find the right materials.
However, once you're done, you learn that her "friends" are actually clay sculptures. She reveals that her dead mother told her to "make new friends", and this lonely girl took the message too seriously. You're then forced to decide whether to harshly break the truth to her or let her go on.
Like "A Young Girl's Wish", this quest can end happily, but only if you choose to give the girl some tough love. You can later return to see her making a few friends after they compliment the remains of her clay sculptures. That is a silver lining at least, but be warned, this is the last entry on this list with an optimistic ending.
