On top of creating your own character, Baldur’s Gate 3 allows you to choose a unique origin where you become the Dark Urge, aka the spawn of the God of Murder and one of the three main antagonists of the game, Bhaal.

As his title might suggest, Dark Urge’s divine dad is not a good guy, and he will hold a huge grudge against you if you try to spoil his plans of bloody domination.

Although the Dark Urge experiences random desires to commit atrocities associated with Bhaal’s domain (read: kill and torture everything in their path), you may choose to deny these “urges” and ultimately go against your deadly heritage.

This said, if you do choose to put the Dark Urge on the path of good, you best do it quickly. Otherwise, foiling Bhaal’s plan may not be enough to defeat him.

If you start giving the Dark Urge a redemption arc too late into the game, if you stop the Absolute’s invasion, Bhaal will take over your character’s mind.

In the final cutscene, the Dark Urge will be shown stalking their party members during the post-game celebration, right before Bhaal orders them to kill them.

Well, no one said denying a god would be easy.
