20 Video Games That Are About To Make A HUGE Comeback
4. 007 First Light
Though James Bond has remained one of the most recognised brands, the martini-guzzling, pun-spewing secret agent has been absent in gaming since the abysmal 007 Legends in 2012.
But Bond is coming back in a big way. Straight after Hitman 3, IO Interactive got to work on 007 First Light, which focuses on a younger, undisciplined Bond. The gameplay glimpsed so far shows a blend of open-ended espionage and sandbox structure, which IO Interactive refined in Hitman. It's clear the devs are going all in with the project to bring the best Bond experience possible, with IO CEO, Hakan Abrak, stating -
"We don't want to make a game where it's only about shooting and running. It's also about delivering that fantasy for a Bond where he can traverse in social spaces and speak to people and figure out in creative ways how to solve the obstacles in front of him."
So, not only is 007 First Light presenting all the combat, car chases, and spycraft we expected, we should really get into the head of our iconic hero, making gameplay and the overarching narrative more personal.
The hype is astronomical, but 007 First Light is poised to deliver.
