20 Video Games That Punish You For Being Too Skilled
17. Springton Boss Fight - Arms
Arms is Nintendo's bizarre attempt at making a brawling game that could make use of the Switch's Joy-Con feature.
You play as characters with all sorts of springy appendages that you use to pummel your opponents into smooth paste, and the main single-player mode of the game has you enter a special championship so that you can try your skill out against its final boss, Max Brass.
Or, if you're especially skilled, Springton.
If you manage to reach the fight with Max Brass without losing a single fight, the game will punish you for it with a secret, extra difficult boss fight with Springtron.
The character will appear to challenge you right before the final boss fight, and unlike his regular iteration, this secret Springton is beefed up with all sorts of nasty cheats that make fighting him especially punishing.
What's even worse is that Springton will only let you fight him once. If you lose the match, he won't appear again, and the game will progress to the duel with Max Brass as normal.
Afterward, even if you win the final fight, your victory will feel absolutely hollow.
