Set in a frightening version of our own world after a killer fungus has ravaged humankind and turned many people into horrific versions of their former selves, both literally and figuratively, the game follows a grown man and his young female companion as they make their way across the landscape in a game that looks to mix post-apocalyptic themes with action and survival horror. Why it will be awesome: Naughty Dog, the crown jewel of Sony's stable of development teams, has proven to be one of the very best in the industry at making games on the Playstation platform since the brand name came into existence The Last of Us looks to be squeezing every last bit of juice out of the aging PS3 with gorgeous visuals, advanced AI, and some truly horrifying gameplay. What's most intriguing, however, is what looks to be a strong emotional core at the heart of the game. The girl, Ellie, looks and behaves like somebody you really want to protect, not to mention the countless ways she helps you out along the way.
