24 Greatest Video Game Moments Of The 2000s

20. Seeing "Next Gen Graphics" For The First Time (In 2000)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_eB2Lr-_0mI Now it takes genuine comparison videos where frame rates and resolutions are contrasted and compared to split hairs on whether a certain bushel of grass looks better on your newest hardware versus that of the last generation - but when the first few screenshots of what the PS2 was capable of started trickling out of the ether, it was incredible. To be fair, Tekken Tag Tournament holds up very well (although it's a lot slower than you remember), but the considerable leap in character models, world design, soundtracks and everything else across the board was staggering. There was nothing on the PS1, Dreamcast or N64 that could hold a candle to what was coming, and when you saw it all in motion and realised not only did they live up to - but surpassed - expectation, it made you love the medium even more.
