Flashback - a cinematic platformer - is about an amnesiac in a futuristic, cyberpunk future tasked with recovering his memories, and piecing together his identity through various fragmented clues. In case you missed that, it was subtitled 'The Search for Identity' in North America, because nothing says 'respect for your audience' in quite the same way.

The cover art - an eerie, postmodern close-up depicting a yellow beam of light shooting into someone's temple, is completely fascinating, mainly because it comes complete with absolutely zero contextualisation, supplying no supplementary information beyond what's immediately available, which is considerably little.

If the game were released today, the cover would feature an arrangement of characters, all looking vaguely into the distance, one of them probably holding a firearm loosely by his side. This is way better.
