The Doom Marine is not a man you want to get in the way of. He is unflinching and unfeeling and will not stop until every demonic hellspawn is ripped to pieces. In other words, he is the man you want to send into the depths of Hell to save humanity.

First he survived an all out assault on Mars. Then when a massive army of demons invaded Earth itself, he didn't hesitate to grab his super shotgun and blow every demon he could find away. Throughout his infamous rampages, the Doom Marine proved so formidable that the very foundations of Hell itself feared his wrath. That's quite an accomplishment.

Clearly this is not a man who wants to be hugged or coddled. But heroes come in all kinds of varieties, and there is no denying just how much mankind owes its survival to the Doom Marine's unquenchable thirst for demonic blood.
