It was only a matter of time before video games as a medium birthed a superhero story to sit alongside those inked onto the page. Enter Cole MacGrath and the Infamous titles; easily developer Sucker Punch's crowning achievement.

By mashing 2D comic panels for cutscenes with a branching narrative that let you play good or evil, MacGrath's powers evolve in either way, but both are immensely satisfying to bust out.

It doesn't hurt that both Infamous games excel in both the graphics department and through verticality, either, as it genuinely feels like the city is your playground. After a few hours of becoming acclimated to your moveset, Infamous channels a sense of encouraged exploration that hasn't been so enjoyable since the likes of Spider-Man 2.
