5 Great 2013 Video Games That Deserve Movie Adaptations

1. GTA V

Ah yes, the golden goose of potential video game movies. The one we'd all love to see, and the one that studios would love to get their hands on. Also the one that likely will not happen, according to the creator of the series. But just think of the cash that a Grand Theft Auto movie would make. Numbers might not even go that high, honestly. It's hard to figure if it's a chicken-or-the-egg thing: is GTA great because it cribs from so many crime movies, or is GTA the type of thing that could be adapted into a great crime movie itself? I tend to skew towards the former, but I don't know for sure. Regardless, GTA V is as good a place to start as any. With its diverse characters, enjoyable heists, and crazy plot, the pieces are in place for a great film to be produced. It just isn't likely we'll ever see that happen. Should Look Like: Heat meets Reservoir Dogs - a moody, brooding drama centered around a major heist and its implications, perhaps with occasional touches of dark comedy instead of the goofier stuff from the game that wouldn't transfer well to cinema.
