5 Reasons GTA IV Was The Worst In The Series

2. Story

GTA-IV There are many blatant oversights in GTA IV by Rockstar. Fans like the freedom and randomness that the use of myriad vehicles allowed, as well as side-questing. Fun and freedom were the lynchpin elements in both Vice City and San Andreas, and I could forgive all of the above due to the many things that this game has going for it, but what kills this game for me is the dumb story. This made the game, for me, agonising to play. I am a man that enjoys story-driven games and will put up with a lot if one is promised, but this game never gave me what it promised. There's absolutely no storyline, just gross over-hype and loads of over-rated reviews. As I said above, the missions are pants. You will be bored to tears due to the repetitive tasks you are forced to perform like steal a car, chase down a car, find someone etc. It gets tiresome, compared to all the previous games or even Saints Row II, a game which comes up with creative choices and lets you choose how and when to do missions to progress through its fun narrative.
