5 Reasons The Forgotten City Is The Perfect Doctor Who Video Game
1. Heaven Sent
If you have never seen the episode of Doctor Who called Heaven Sent then stop reading and watch it now, even if you’re not a fan, which would be weird seeing as you got through this far into the list.
There is some season story lore at the beginning and end of the episode, but the meat of the sandwich is an intelligent, scary, and well-written standalone one-man tale brilliantly performed by Peter Capaldi.
Seen it now? Good, because spoilers ahoy.
The story takes place with The Doctor arriving in a mysterious ancient castle, where the burnt remains of some poor unfortunate soul greet him. As he tries to work out the mystery he realizes the burnt remains are his own, sacrificing himself so he can create a time loop so his past self can arrive and continue where he left off, trying to find a way to escape.
This is the exact premise of The Forgotten City, burnt remains and all, except the skull and bones, you find belong to poor old Sentius, the current ruler of the city who sacrifices himself each time to want to make like The Rocky Horror Show and do the time warp again.
The Forgotten City has its own brilliant and original ideas, otherwise, we wouldn't be singing its praises, but Doctor Who's influence on the game is undeniable.
