5 Reasons Why Being A Video Game Cyborg Sucks

4. Your Body Runs On AA Batteries

Let's suppose that you aren't an NPC or a bad guy and you're a cyborg. Things are pretty great, right? You're the main character, after all. Things should be awesome, right? You have all sorts of abilities that can be used for all sorts of things, after all. Nope. For whatever reason, cyborgs always seem to run on the future equivalent of the AA battery. At best, you'll get a few minutes of super strength or invisibility before your batteries need to recharge. At worst, you use a single ability and an entire battery's worth of energy is gone. And since game developers have fallen in love with segmented bars that only regenerate if part of the bar isn't completely empty, you're in for a world of pain.

Thankfully, there€™s usually some sort of mechanic to recharge you batteries quickly and easily. But if you want to keep up your hero/badass reputation, better keep a bandolier of protein bars on you. You wouldn€™t want to run out of energy in the middle of knocking in some heads or rescuing people, would you? Then what would you do? Probably stand around apologetically while getting shot, that's what.
