5 Things We Learned From PGI 2018
1. Gen. G Gold & OMG Are The Best Teams In The World - For Now...
The two winning teams of the inaugural PUBG Global Invitational will go down in history. Not only that, individuals such as OMG's lionkk is now regarded as the best in the world at this iconic Battle Royale shooter, amassing both the most kills and the longest overall survival time over the course of the tournament. However, OMG and Gen.G gold will have quite the task to keep those top spots in the future, as teams such as Liquid, Welcome To South Georgo (WTSG), and Natus Vincere (NAVI), crept up the ranks during the tournament, and truly made their mark.
WTSG had the unfortunate case of sponsors dropping out of their support just before the event, but still landed third in both TPP and FPP tournaments, so it's safe to say once they take to the stage again, they'll have a wealth of sponsors behind them, more experience, and more dedication to take those top spots. Team Liquid came exceptionally close to overtaking OMG during the FPP tournament at the last second, and NAVI were improving consistently throughout the tournament. Come PGI 2019, Gen.G Gold and OMG will have these three teams giving them a run for their money.
