5 Tips To Maintain A Healthy Relationship If You're A Hardcore Gamer
3. Understanding Each Other's Interests
This may take a while, but find time to understand your partner's interests as you would expect her to understand yours. For example; if she likes soap operas or reality shows, just let her watch or even better, join in regardless how much hate you have for soppy dramas. Survive and endure, then you can go back to your gaming after it's over. Everybody wins since you both get a turn doing what you like most. However, if you're playing on the consoles and have to hog the TV most of the time, it's a good idea to invest on a separate monitor for gaming. This way you two won't have to argue whose turn it is for the TV. Also from what I believe, best to place these two monitors in the same room instead of being isolated in another. Your partner won't feel left out and will enjoy her shows or movies while you're at the side playing games. Furthermore, you can always try to get her into video games. Start 'poisoning' her with simple, addictive ones like Animal Crossing or Harvest Moon. However, truth be told, I have not been successful in getting my wife to pick up my 3DS/PS3/Wii U controller except when she's doing the dusting. In case you're in the same situation, just invite her to join your gaming sessions or maybe watch together that sexy Bayonetta cutscene. At least she will have better understanding on what you're actually doing. If all else fails, there's always Candy Crush Saga or the recent Farm Heroes Saga to distract the missus.
