7 Censored Video Games That Went Way Too Far
3. Monster Monpiece
As with BMX XXX, Monster Monpiece is a game concept so dumb you kind of have to laugh as well as marvelling at how something like it got as far as it did without getting a heavy tar with the censorship brush. It’s a card battle video game released for the PlayStation Vita in 2013.
The most, err… ’interesting’ aspect of the gameplay is the ‘extreme rub’ system, which requires the player to stroke both sides of the Vita console on its side in a pumping motion, in order to seal cards. Rubbing, poking and touching the screen results in the character’s clothes being removed, from fully clothed to a skimpy bathing suit. Touching the monster girls also causes their breasts and thighs to jiggle in response.
Various aspects of the character cards were censored in the western releases of the game, relating to the sexual content of the images and some of the character's youthful appearances.
After censorship, the game was given an ‘M’ rating in the US and actually received passable reviews, save for the ‘extreme rub’ feature, which was almost universally criticised as inappropriate by western reviewers.
