7 Glitches In Video Games That Became Essential Features In Their Franchise
2. Legend Of Zelda - Magical Bug Catching Net
One of the more fun glitches in the Zelda franchise comes from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, where the bug catching net has the surprising capacity to reflect Aghanim’s fireballs back at him. Considering it’s the ‘BUG’ catching net that’s a somewhat appropriate item for the glitch to revolve around, huh? It went on to spawn one of the most beloved recurring Easter eggs in Zelda games.
Funny and awesome as it is, it was an entirely unintentional feature. However, far from putting their mistake behind them, the developers of the Zelda series have kept the spirit alive across the entire series with all sorts of miscellaneous items having powerful properties in battles against Ganon.
Using the fishing rod in Twilight Princess will distract Ganondorf as he stands with resting glitch face while you wave it around, leaving him vulnerable to attack. In another nod the bug catching net, you can also deflect Ganondorf’s blast back in Ocarina of Time with an empty water bottle, which actually has a wider radius than your sword, making it the superior choice for the battle.
