7 Reasons Why Overwatch Will Be The Next Big Multiplayer Shooter

The game is set in a futuristic version of Earth, where humans and robots (also known as Omnics) once lived peacefully together. Somewhere down the line, the Omnic developers inexplicably went rogue and began plotting a revolution with a series of military-grade creations to overthrow civilization. The United Nations, as a result, brought together some of the most powerful fighters in the world to stop them.

The group was called Overwatch, and they were successful in their battle. The world rejoiced, and, for some time, there was peace.

Unfortunately, it could not last forever. While the organization expanded with more brilliant minds joining over a course of three decades, they were soon subject to accusations of corruption, terrorism, conspiracies, and abuses of human rights. It crumbled over time, and all hell started to break loose across the planet. The only solution was for selfless and brave heroes to rise above the accusations of criminal behavior and fight.

A plot like this is gripping enough with its details and backstory, but leaving enough space for further information on the events building up to everything going completely out of hand. Not only have Blizzard Entertainment told these stories through animated shorts like they did with certain characters, but there are digital comics to read as well.

Here's hoping future editions will allow readers to delve deeper into the build-up, as the frantic and hectic events that take place during the game will only get better if you know exactly what's going on.
