7 Times Video Game Fans Lost Their Minds At Stupid Things
3. Every Pokemon Game's Starters
I know that this will make me sound like a proper old man, but the original wave of Pokemon frenzy that took place while I was still at school was the absolute peak.
The frenzied rush of kids crowding around in groups all trading and battling were unlike anything else, and the cries of joy and pain as pocket monsters bit chunks out of each other was a distilled cacophony of youth. However, this joy always came with an experience that could only be described as a "crippling heart attack" each time you loaded up the game and were presented with a near-impossible choice.
Charmander, Bulbasaur or Squirtle? HOW CAN YOU POSSIBLY CHOOSE THEY'RE ALL AMAZING.
And the problem only multiplied with time, as with each new release another set of starters was offered up to agonize over. Yet alongside this another issue was beginning to seep in, that being the "lack of creativity" that some poke-fans were leveling at Game Freak with each passing generation. In this current age, we are seeing as many fans lamenting they can't choose all the starters as much as we are those who are soundly rejecting all of them, whilst still playing each entry in the mainline franchise like a good little Wooloo.
It's bleating without weight through and through, as the biggest detractors of the newest starter set are also the ones first in line to queue up for the newest title.
