7 Upcoming Video Game Reboots That'll Blow You Away In 2016

3. Rez Infinite

Sega's beautiful wireframe shooter Rez captured something about the early noughties period in which it was released. In 2001, cyberspace still felt like a new frontier that we had just started truly exploring, and the psychedelic visuals of Rez, in which you fly through a computer 'supernetwork', blasting your way through viruses and firewalls in an attempt to save a super AI called Eden, in its own weird way captured the excitement of the techy new world we were heading into. It seems fitting then, that just as Rez was launched in the middle of a major technological shift, Rez Infinite is one of the most promising games to launch with the upcoming PlayStation VR headset. Infinite will be a remastering to some extent, featuring all the levels of the original, but with enhanced graphics that improve upon the HD version released in 2008. On top of that it will also feature a host of new levels, and of course a control scheme tailored to the revolutionary VR technology that'll play host to it. While most VR games have pushed the PS4 hardware to try and deliver lifelike, immersive graphics, Rez Infinite is keeping it old-school with its unique retro-cyberspace presentation. Expect it to quietly be one of the best titles launching for VR this year.
