7 Ups & 6 Downs From E3 2019
5. Big Developers And Publishers Barely Showing Up
Speaking of there being no real surprises this year, a big part of that has to do with some of the biggest publishers barely turning up - or sitting the event out as a whole. Activision and Call of Duty were nowhere to be seen, which does make sense considering the marketing deal the publisher has with Sony, but it still left a huge hole in the weekend - especially considering how big the hype for Modern Warfare is.
Likewise, while everyone was debating whether or not Capcom would announced Resident Evil 3's remake or Resident Evil 8, the publisher announced neither game, and had no other mad, rumoured reveals like Dino Crisis up their sleeves either.
The biggest no-show, however, was Warner Bros., who have a number of MIA projects fans are desperate to see. While Rocksteady ruled themselves out in the run up to the event, fans still held out hope that WB Montreal's DC superhero game would fill the gap. That, of course, didn't happen, and WB had nothing to show from their other franchises like Mortal Kombat, or the leaked Harry Potter RPG, either.
These are some of the biggest publishers in the industry, and their presence was sorely missed.
