7 Video Game Romance Choices THAT KILL YOU

5. Morinth - Mass Effect

BioWare

One of the greatest things about Mass Effect (outside of Shepard's dance moves) is that the titles manage to make you feel like this massive space opera is also a truly personal tale, infusing each mission with personal choices and allowing the player to craft a granular experience throughout.

And clearly part and parcel of being any space worthy captain is by taking a cue from Captain Kirk and bedding as many alien species as possible throughout the galaxy. Yet putting the smoothest of moves can actually lead to your downfall if you choose to side with Morinth over Samara in the latter's loyalty quest. Morinth is Sammy's daughter and has been going on a spate of sex-murders as of late, using her genetic abnormality of obliterating her chosen mates minds during sex.

Shephard is offered a choice in the ensuing confrontation, to murder Morinth, let her escape or, if we're feeling saucy, siding with her and killing Samara! Doing so will earn you the favour of Morinth as well as her affections, yet despite thinking that you MIGHT survive the process, Shepard instead dies of pleasure overdose should you choose to take her up on the offer.

Imagine the awkward looks of the crew when they find their captain looking like a squeeze tube of toothpaste. Grim.

Jules Gill hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
