8 Anticipated Video Games You Can FINALLY Play In 2019
2. Dead Island 2
Four and a half years after the explosive initial cinematic trailer, zombie game fans are still waiting patiently for any news on the fate of the missing in action sequel to Dead Island. Announced with an explosive trailer back in 2014, Dead Island 2 has been spuriously absent from any gaming news since.
With so little information since that trailer (apart from a series of disappointing delays and studio changes), it seems hard to think what state Dead Island 2 could even be in. Will it still feature the voice talents of Jack Black? What about its seemingly wicked sense of humour? Will we even be getting Dead Island 2 after the free-roaming, zombie-slaying antics of Dying Light took centre stage?
We don't quite want to give up hope on Dead Island 2 just yet, but it seems that it's future is bleak; the zombie survival sim has languished in development hell for a long time now, switching up studios multiple times as Deep Silver split with initial studio and then Sumo Digital. However, the fact that there's not been a formal cancellation means that theoretically we COULD be playing a direct sequel...eventually.
