4. Wild Arms
When I was young, Wild Arms was my favourite J-RPG, but since then I've found myself quite disappointed with the series - with the exception of Wild Arms 3, which was great. I enjoy Wild Arms chiefly because I like Westerns, so the music and style really grabbed me and it was particularly engaging to see Anime style animation resembling the Spaghetti Westerns I'm a fan of, and I liked the cowboy twist on the monster filled world of traditional J-RPGs. Like I said, since then I've been pretty disappointed with Wild Arms, and with J-RPGs in general. So then Red Dead Redemption came out and I started talking with an accent and wishing I had a horse. The game recalled just how much fun playing as a cowboy could be, and proved in the process that gamers will still buy into that genre. I'd love to see Wild Arms rebooted, taking some prompts from Red Dead and I think the idea of an Anime Spaghetti Western game could be great fun, feeling something like The Good, The Bad and The Weird. It would also be good to see J-RPGs taking more risks with their gameplay the same way Western RPGs do: the battle System in Wild Arms was always quite fun from what I remember, and I'd like to see them develop it with more gunplay elements. They could also really play with the horse riding and other gameplay features which were a bit wasted in the previous games.
